● Observation: Performance of original compositions by participating classes
● Discussion/Analysis:
○ What music elements (rhythm, dynamics, instrument arrangement) were used by the composers in the creation of their musical idea?
○ What understanding of music elements did students demonstrate when they performed the compositions of the other participating students.
○ Why is it important to know the elements that are used in music composition?
○ Why is it important to pay attention to the music elements and devices the composer used in their composition when you perform their music?
● Creation/Synthesis:
○ Create original rhythm compositions in 2/4, 3/4, or 4/4 meter
○ Use whole, half, and quarter notes and rests
● Exchange: In a collaborative concert, students will perform the original compositions of the partner class using Skype.
